Black Movement-Law Project Training

On Saturday, January 30, 2016, the National Conference of Black Lawyers (NCBL) will offer Black Movement-Law Project trainings, back-to-back sessions on Legal Observing (with a special emphasis on race, power, and privilege) and Jail Support.

BMLP has worked in Ferguson, Baltimore, Cleveland, and throughout the country in 2015 to support communities of color as they mobilized to demonstrate against police brutality and systemic racism. BMLP hopes that the Black Movement-Law project training(s) and meeting(s) will serve to build ties between lawyers, legal workers, and organizers in Southeastern Michigan, and to catalyze stronger legal infrastructure and movement-building in the City of Detroit.
